This video covers the process of creating a table with headers in Dreamweaver.

We'll start by clicking Insert Table to add a table to this webpage.

Begin configuring the table size attributes.

Next, select a header orientation. In this case, we'll try out the style that includes a header row and column.

An important configuration for this table will be the completion of accessibility features for individuals with disabilities. Give this table a unique caption and summary. These will be useful when someone with a screen reader attempts to view your page.

Click OK.

You can now see the table represented as HTML on the left, and as an empty table on the right. Begin adding your header text for the first row and first column of the table.

With the header text added, take a moment to note the HTML on the left. Notice that each header cell uses the <th> tag. <th> stands for Table Header. The <th> tag is used by header columns, and rows. The <th> tag's scope attribute defines whether the header cell applies to a row or column.

Now, add data to your table's blank cells.

Through the use of table headers, this table will be read properly by a screenreader. For example, the Leatherette row will be read left to right starting with the color, then its value, then the next color and its value, etc. Without the headers, a screen reader would just read the table cels left to right, top to bottom.

You have successfully created a table with headers in Dreamweaver.
